This duology is comprised of Mirror of Her Dreams and A Man Rides Through. Its an absolutely brilliant story that tells the story of how a woman who has been programmed her whole life to believe shes worthless comes into her power and rises up to greatness to save a kingdom from evil. It tells the story of a disenchanted young woman called Terisa Morgan from the real world, who is transported to a fantasy world where mirrors have supernatural summoning powers. The young apt Geraden was sent to summon a mighty champion with weapons of fire and impregnable armor to save them from the vile Imagers besetting the kingdom of Mordant, but he summons Terisa instead. This sets up the question of how can this unlikely candidate possibly be the champion destined to save Mordant from doom.
She becomes the target of enemies seeking to destroy her, the same mysterious enemies who are seeking to bring about the downfall of Mordant. An unknown cabal of Imagers is summoning destructive forces to beset Mordant, all while the seemingly senile King Joyse refuses to take action, making himself even more of a target for attack. Their enemies could come from either of two neighboring kingdoms who were former enemies of Mordant before King Joyse and Adept Havelock defeated them and gathered most of the Imagers to serve him. He bound the Congery with laws to prevent them from abusing their power, but now the Congery feels that their former King has abandoned them to bear witness to the destruction of everything he created.
